Book Review: Programming Collective Intelligence
For Christmas I got an excellent book about basically mining and predicting information. It has sections on how search engines work, bayes-based spam filtering and optimizing solutions (amongst other things).

This movie has been released free of charge on the internet and can either be downloaded as a normal PC/Mac playable movie or as a DVD image for burning to a DVD and showing on TVs in school.
